Stop Memory Hogging Fire Fox!!
by z7oofy on Jun.23, 2009, under Tech Reviews
As many of you guys know the Fire Fox browser still have some big memory hogging problems. sometime you might find that your machine is so slow when the fire fox is running. if you look closer in your process list. you will find that Fire Fox is among the biggest memory used programs section (Even when you don’t have any sites open).
Well it’s a bit of a problem we can’t help it unless FF team do something about it..but what we can do is, we can tell Fire Fox not to use any resources when you are not browsing around. without further talking here we go!!
01. Open your Fire Fox
02. on your Address bar type about : config

03. Click “I’ll be careful, I promise!” Button

Then it will display you the Fire Fox settings list.
04. Right Click Anywhere on the list from the context Menu New >> Boolean

05. as the setting value enter config.trim_on_minimize then Click OK

06. on the next window select true then click OK

07. Restart Fire Fox.
That’s it.. simply what you did is, you instructed Fire Fox to release the resources when you are minimizing your browser which it holding on while it’s active .
I experienced a much more faster performance on FF after doing this.. try it and post your reply to me..
